Description
My filament comes “loose” and not on a reel, so I designed this holder to hold it for printing. The “prongs” are from the design “yet another reel holder” by GMFerrari. The centre hub is designed to loose fit over 22mm plastic water tubing from DIY store (see picture). The prongs are a tight push fit into the centre hub (may need some filing to fit). Sketch files provided if you wish to modify.
Printing Instructions
Buy or acquire plastic tubing, 22mm external diameter.
Central hub Sketch file provided, so modify diameter if required
Print central Hub (x1) and Spokes (x4)
The prongs are a tight push fit into the centre hub (may need some filing to fit depending how accurate your printer is). Sketch files provided if you wish to modify.

The tubing can be placed in a frame – I used connecting parts from a RepRapPRo printer to make a frame to hold the tubing (search for RepRapPro Tricolour Mendel)
